Founder
Practicing in both public and private law, Josephine established Racioppo Giangrande Law to help persons traverse change, enforce rights, surmount barriers, and resolve disputes. She is a trauma-informed, passionate champion of alternative dispute resolution, access to justice and inclusivity.
Experience Meets Advocacy
Having 20 years of dispute resolution and tribunal litigation experience, Josephine brings expert instincts and skills to her handling of each case when acting as an advocate. She brings a high-level of expertise addressing evidentiary issues early on and anticipating issues before problems arise. Her prowess with statutory interpretation and application of legislative provisions and rules also lend to her effective and successful advocacy in any hearing room.
Because Perspective Matters
Josephine’s insights and knowledge have come from being on every side of the proverbial table. This includes her work as a representative, a mediator, and also long-time tribunal adjudicator. As an adjudicator, she has presided over thousands of cases and decided a broad range of complex legal issues and evidentiary or procedural questions, and relating to matters spanning from medical to financial to human rights including at an appellate level tribunal.
Appeals & Judicial Review
Josephine ensures decision reasons are sound, that relevant evidence has been considered and weighed carefully, and that established common law principles and rights including reasonableness, and procedural fairness have been upheld. The appropriateness of filing for a court’s review of a final decision of an administrative body may be considered and explored, if required.
Helping People Move Forward Faster
Taking a client-centered approach, Josephine understands the financial cost as well as the toll of litigation including the emotional, physical and mental impacts on a person and their loved ones.
